Gigi & Mike have been touring around Southern California since 2004, encouraging families to sing together and enjoy music. They travel through old traditional songs and other kid-friendly tunes. Kids can create their own lyrics, play basic percussion instruments, and engage in great folk music and stories.

The songs on this CD have been their "greatest hits" in concert. Families have been taping from live concerts to sing along at home . . . and Gigi & Mike finally thought that they needed a set of recordings to follow up on their 2006 "Crunchy PartyMix" CD.

About Us:
Gigi Johnson and Mike Salas shared their first family concert in 2004. Amazed afterwards, they realized that somewhere along the line, many families stopped singing together. iPods and DVDs replaced family car songs. Karaoke replaced acceptable mixed-pitch fun.

Since then, they have worked to reintroduce singing and folk music to families, one concert, CD, and cable/broadband show at a time. They perform around Southern California in association with libraries, museum, and community groups, bringing singing old songs and making up new songs into kids' lives.

Gigi

Gigi Johnson is a funny soprano and part-time comedienne who realized from her children's friends and classmates that somewhere along the line, families stopped singing......and since then, she has worked to reintroduce singing and folk music to families, one concert, CD, and cable/broadband show at a time.

Mike

Mike Salas, a long-time singer-songwriter in the Los Angeles area, combines talented guitar playing and straight man. He's been playing guitar since he was 12 and has been composing music and showcasing as lead singer for many bands around Los Angeles. He's been a kindergarten teacher who has been heavily involved in area music for many years. He's also a recurring guest on KCET's A Place of Our Own for two seasons.
