âThe Other Side of the Worldâ
Growing up in a family that enjoyed music was certainly a major contributing factor in my early desire to sing, entertain and write songs. In my pre-teenage years, I was lucky to have my older brother Bruce, an avid barbershop quartet singer, take the time to teach my younger brother Don and me three part harmony to Kingston Trio songs. We would then entertain at my parentsâ parties which became the stepping stone to my singing and playing guitar wherever I would go. Living in Montreal Canada, I would sing and play my way through college at local pubs around town while attending McGill University. Some of my earlier songs I wrote that you will hear on this CD are âLiving On The Edgeâ, âSince Iâve Got To Know Herâ (for all those that know I love to whistle) and âDaylightâs Gone Againâ It was soon after graduating college that I moved to The Cayman Islands and eventually owned a well known restaurant called The Almond Tree where I would hang my hat as an entertainer for ten years. Living in the Caribbean for a long time soaks into your soul, and your rhythm as evidenced in some of my newer songs like â Mojitos and Margaritasâ, âTropical Rendezvousâ and âIsland Dreaminâ, which was an actual enlightening experience while visiting Harbour Island in The Bahamas one time. Now living in Florida and owning a successful Financial Advisory business, I still love to entertain, and write songs. This CD is a compilation of my music and would not have been possible without the chance meeting of a world class musician, sound engineer, and now close friend Daniel Lombardi. Daniel not only plays a lot of the instruments in this CD, but he also has the magical quality of bringing out the very essence of each song. I hope you enjoy listening to âThe Other Side of the Worldâ

I walked into a pub in South Florida not too long ago and was mesmerized by the music of a guitarist on stage playing lead acoustic guitar like a butterfly dancing on the wind. Little did I know that this was the tip of the iceberg when it comes to musical talent and Daniel Lombardi. Daniel and I soon struck up a friendship while playing a benefit concert together, and without hesitation Daniel said he would help me realize one of my dreams, to produce a CD of songs I had written and composed. Danielâs musical talent is never ending, from playing everything from percussion, piano, glass slide on an electric guitar, soft jazz guitar, and more, to painstakingly arranging, mixing and mastering each of the songs on this CD. Itâs been an unbelievable experience to work beside Daniel, and showcase Danielâs talent on my CD. Itâs been even a greater feeling to have someone like Daniel Lombardi hug you and say âI love you brotherâ.
Daniel Lombardi grew up in South Florida, and began playing guitar at the age of five. He studied Jazz guitar and theory from David Gould in Sarasota, Florida, who happened to be a great friend of the legendary jazz guitarist, Joe Pass, which in turn gave Daniel the opportunity of a handful of lessons from him as well. At age eleven Daniel was playing with a straight ahead Jazz quartet in Englewood. By age thirteen he had become the youngest member of the Musicians Union, Local 703, Fort Myers, Florida. Daniel auditioned for the United States Army Band in his junior year of high school, and was accepted into the prestigious military band field, before graduating Lemon Bay High School, Englewood, Florida.
Daniel has toured, worked and recorded with: Harry Connick, Al Jarreau, Jeff Lorber, Willie Nelson, John Michael Montgomery, Kenny Chesney, Manhattan Transfer, Jeff Berlin, Pat Butler, Roberto Perrera, Bobby Caldwell, Derrick James, 8th Infantry Division Band, US Army, 1st Armored Division Band, U.S. Army.
Daniel Lombardi is a Purple Heart recipient, wounded in action while serving our country in Afghanistan.
