Hi! My name is Alayna, and this is my first EP project completed with my best friend and co-writer Sara Zebley, aka "Zeb". We love writing songs together, and these tracks are some of the first we've written together. I'll list the tracks and describe the story behind each of them :)

"The Real Thing" - Zeb came to me with this idea, along with half of the song done. Audiences seem to really enjoy this track....it's about trying to find a REAL and HONEST love, kicking aside the "fairytale" stereotype. Not in the midst of falling head over heels, but already being in a solid, supportive relationship.

"Sweet Lies" - An audience favorite, Zeb wrote this track herself. Though the story itself is not one that she experienced, it is a situation that she imagined. We love this song and decided that it had to be recorded.

"Windows and Doors" - This song was also an unfinished piece that Zeb presented to me. We worked on it, and liked where it was going. At one point we ended up getting stuck, so we decided to turn it over to our talented friend, Susan Randall. An aspiring Christian artist herself, Susan gave us a kick-off into the chorus that we needed. "Windows and Doors" is about reflection and self-realization.

"Here I Am" - A song drawn from a personal experience of mine. My then-boyfriend (now ex) moved to Disney World to take part in the Disney College Program. I was very excited for him and couldn't wait to visit, booking a flight and letting everyone know! But things turned sour as he quickly changed, ignoring my texts and calls. Deep down I knew he was cheating on me - and he was. This song describes my feelings of rejection and confusion during it all.

"Burn" - Wouldn't ya know it, a song about another ex-boyfriend of mine ;) This time, he was being a two-timer. The day his other girl showed up at the door, I flew off the handle. After all 3 of us left his house, I realized I left something there. While he was gone, his uninformed mom let me in (bad idea). I got what I needed, but decided to do some damage. The only word I could think of the entire time all of this was happening was "BURN"! So I took out my lipstick and wrote "BURN" on his computer screen sitting on a desk right above his bed, then left the scene. I felt much better after that :)

"The Last Days" - Zeb and I wrote this song as a graduation gift to our friends from college. Each verse is about a certain friend of ours :) We were lucky enough to be able to play it at our Baccalaureate, where we dedication the song to our entire Class of 2011.
