Paul Prince's guitar style has entranced audiences from Alberta Canada to Santa Cruz California. He has performed solo at the WOMAD Festival while touring with legendary Zimbabwean singer Thomas Mapfumo, and in 1999 after performing with Mapfumo and his group The Blacks Unlimited and opening shows on tour, Prince was invited to record Mapfumo's hit "Chamunorwa" ( what are we fighting for?) with the band in a rare un-plugged format with Paul's acoustic providing the melodic weave for Mapfumo, his percussionists and vocalists. The was the first time Mapfumo recorded with a non overdubbed solo acoustic as the sole melodic instrument. Paul's music has been heard Internationally on Afropop WORLDWIDE where director George's Collinet commented "thats beautiful". Paul's innovative style is an invigorating and inspiring blend of African and Island music which features a wide range of colorful harmonic techniques which transform the guitar into a one man band without resorting to looping. Although high energy, the sound is also relaxing and energizing. In Paul's live shows his big sound and melodic intuition are put to good use on covers of African tunes like Marian Makeba's classic "The Lion" and Paul's own break through guitar explorations.
