My music comes from the loving flow of nature; sensitive, spiritual and fun. It features flowing vocals and guitar, bowed and mountain dulcimers and alto and soprano recorders along with a tiny bit of percussion for special effects.

I've been talking about it for at least 4 years, and it has finally come about. My New CD is finally ready! Nothing happens until it's time!
"Meanderings" is a CD of mainly original folk music, (13 of them) being played on mainly home made instruments (Mountain Dulcimers and a Bowed Dulcimer that I built (yes, females can build too!). I started building dulcimers in 1990. You might say I'm a bit of a jack of all trades :) you can see them out on my blogspot - wiescapees under the CD title - Meanderings. Also, White River is out on You Tube under my name.
The music on this CD spans over a decade of composing, from the time my children were growing up to early October 2011! My music comes from nature - I'm inspired by the trees, the water and the beautiful energy floating around and within us all the time - it sparkles and spirals. Dance of the Tree Knomes is an instrumental piece I wrote while living outside of Albertville, Wisconsin back in the woods. This was a deep and beautiful place. I could feel the "heartbeat" of mother earth, and the sap moving in the trees and bringing life to the leaves in those beautiful old oaks. a tiny bit of tamborine and egg shaker were used to represent the sparkling light around and within those trees. They bring life to the song.
I actually wrote my first song when I was about 10 years old. It was called "The Incredible Edible Crayfish". I guess my sense of humor has always been there - it's light and sometimes subtle, but the smile comes through! I like to write songs that teach about nature's ways. Skeeter and Swoops is about a little brown bat and a purple martin. NO, the whole cd is not a compilation of little songs about little creatures. It is about being lifted up and filled with joy and peace and light. Half of the pieces are instrumental, and the other half vocals. My husband John and I enjoy playing together, and we included three of our favorite old-time traditional pieces. Wildwood flower, Reuben's Train (my bowed dulcimer part on here is really fun - both for playing and listening), and I'll Fly Away (an appropriate ending I think)
This is the third album I've made. "The Awakening" (which I plan to rerelease out here on CD Baby in the future) is an inspirational cd filled with synthesized spiritual music and vocals. I had considered putting Look to the One and Love is a Whisper on there, but they truely belong on "Meanderings". "Wind through the Reeds" was done with my daughter (2005) and is filled with celtic pieces done on recorders, guitar, mountain dulcimer and vocals.
I began playing music at 4 years old when my folks bought an organ, then started learning guitar at 8 years old. I'm a late bloomer, but at least I'm bloomin!! Take a listen to Meanderings and fill yourself up with peace.
