A NEW CHRISTMAS SONG SAMPLER FROM TOM GROUNDS IS MAKING THE HOLIDAY BRIGHTER
Dallas based singer Tom Grounds has just released a CHRISTMAS SONG SAMPLER of 4 tunes recorded with the Buddy Shanahan Trio. The stylish recording features: âTwas The Night Before Christmas,â âWinter Wonderland,â âThe Joy Medley,â and âWhat Are You Doing New Years Eve?â TOM GROUNDS CHRISTMAS SONG SAMPLER 2005 was recorded in Dallas at 2nd Floor Studios, and features arrangements by Buddy Shanahan. The trio includes Buddy Shanahan on Piano, Peggy Honea on Bass, and Mike Drake on Drums. Additional vocals on âThe Joy Medleyâ were contributed by Gary Floyd and Todd Hart. The CD is available now at: www.tomgrounds.com, and www.cdbaby.com. Grounds and the Buddy Shanahan Trio are now completing work on a new full length CD, LOVE FOR SALE, to be released in 2006 on TAGline Music.
Grounds has been a professional entertainer since the age of thirteen, when he was cast in a production of The Sound Of Music at Chicagoâs Candlelight Dinner Playhouse. He has been living in Dallas since 1995, where he maintains a full time career as an IT consultant for Pariveda Solutions. In 2002 Grounds established TAGline Music, a production company dedicated to the art of cabaret. He has previously released one full length CD, SOMETHING I WANTED YOU TO KNOW. The TAGLine mission statement â...to bring the many talented Cabaret artists to life on CD...â provides a window into the strength of Tomâs commitment to the cabaret genre. On SOMETHING I WANTED YOU TO KNOW, Tom âbreaks the fourth wall.â He provides a spoken through line from one song to another, a theatrical technique one will never hear on a pop or jazz studio recording. On LOVE FOR SALE (with a projected release date of February, 2006), Tom will use the backdrop of a jazzy cocktail party to examine human relationships. This time the listener is invited to mingle at the party, and almost eavesdrop on the songs as conversations one might hear.
