Details:
Legendary Jamaican riddim guitarist Tony Chin releases debut solo album that brings to the people his own version of lovers rock, conscious roots and an uplifting rasta message for the new millenium.

With over 25 years of recording roots style and rocksteady music for producers Bunny Lee, Lee Scratch Perry, Niney the Observer, and Joe Gibbs. Backing artists like Bob Marley, Jimmy Cliff, Gregory Isaacs, John Holt, U-Roy, Dennis Brown, Freddie McGregor, Big Youth, Burning Spear, Ken Boothe and many more, it's no wonder every song has hit the top of the charts. As Roger Steffens, reggae historian and curator of the World of Reggae Archives in Long Beach, California stated,"Tony Chin is one of the great unsung heroes of Jamaica's golden age of reggae in the 1970's. As the rhythm guitarist for Soul Syndicate, the prime studio band in Kingston during that electrifying decade, Tony helped anchor some of the biggest hits of the era."

Rooted in Kingston 13, Tony Chin, alongside bassist Fully Fullwood, drummer Santa Davis, keyboardist Keith Sterling, lead guitarist Chinna Smith, known as Soul Syndicate Band has created some of the legendary sounds of reggae music that still gets recycled today. One of the most noted is,'Stalag 17', an instrumental that was used for a version of Big Youth's 'Jim Screechy' and later Tenor Saw did a version of it on 'Ring de Alarm'. Soul Syndicate put out several albums featuring their own works. 'Was Is and Always', 'Harvest Uptown' and others.

Tony Chin's talent has taken him all over the world backing artists such as Michael Rose, Andrew Tosh, Mikey Dread, the Mighty Diamonds and many others, recreating the music that was recorded back in the day.

While Tony Chin has settled in the Los Angeles area, his career evolved once again in 93 when he teamed up with the reggae pop band Big Mountain, giving the band the authentic reggae rhythm sound made the band strong in the years to come. While helping with some of the musical arrangments, most notably the billboard chart topper 'Baby I Love Your Way", writing and working on several of Big Mountain albums proved successful for Tony. Today you can find Tony Chin backing major artists as part of the Fully Fullwood Band.

Tony has taken time out to work on his own music and it is a pleasure to bring to the people his own style of music. Co-produced by Raymond Valles, Tony Chin is proud to release his long awaited CD Music and Me.
