Hip Hop meets The Mainstream, "Feel Good Music"

17 MP3 Songs
HIP HOP/RAP: Hip Hop, HIP HOP/RAP: Rap

Details:
From the cold blocks and dark corners where the dope fiends smoke. To the block-corner scorn where the hustlers sit, emerges the future of an entire generation. From Columbus, Ohio(The seat of the Buck) Comes DC. Cocked and ready to release on the world at large he drops his 2nd release "On The Brink". With the positive response of his mixtape "Driven", he comes w/ what radio Dj's, rap offianado's, and fans in general call a sure classic. As legends retire and rap fans long for something more than your marketed image fixed w/ girls and practiced platinum mean mug the scene is set for a surprise....For something different. Beating through the streets w/ the heartbeat of 500,000 watt systems is a new sound. Straight from the Buckeye State Ladies and Gentleman, G's, Kids, baby momma's and daddy's I bring to you Young Homie DC!!!! "Rappers write ya best flows, Hustlers get ya dough up"

Why this name?
Im'a young dude and people always called me young homie and walnut so it kind of chose itself. Dc means Dominate all Competition.

Do you play live?
Yeah I do. I've done the convention center, clubs and things like that. I would have to say one special moment that sticks out to me is: When the beat drops and they all go crazy hype. and during a song like "More Than Music" or a song you just vibe to. They just go and zone out w/ you man I love that.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It levels the playing field to me, between the major and the Independant to the solo artist that's doin it on his own nah-mean. It makes a guy w/ no distribution available to a connected world that's hungry.

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Oh yeah. I'm workin on that right now. You know, you meet people blah-zae-blah but nothings in stone. Basically I'm still shopping myself and pushin my crack on tracks, white on mics, so I'm still available. The deal gotta be right though.

Your influences?
I've always been a LL fan. But I would have to say that my favorite rapper(s) is Jay-Z, Biggie and Kanye, Common, Mos Def for sure. I have people I respect; Fat joe, Foxy(hot), and Nas.

Favorite spot?
My favorite spot is Florida hands-down. I went down there and almost didn't come back man it's beautiful. Like a second home. Oh yeah and New York that's number one.

Equipment used:
I use protools. For beats my producer "Te'diggy" he uses Fruity Loops, Acid 7.0, and Coll edit and gold wave.

Anything else...?
Yeah. To all those artist out there grindin to get that good music out there, keep grindin. They turned down Jay, Kanye, and various other artist like Alicia Keys. Your now does'nt define your tomorrow, it has yet to be written. Your life is the car ain't no one at the wheel but you.
