REVIEW OF 4TH STUDIO ALBUM FROM SPANISH TRANSLATION @MENTES DEACIDO.
"The Secret Power of the Third Eye" is the fourth one album of the new york The Brian Wilson Shock Treatment, and with this new delivery, al the same as already to occur with its previous works, is offered us a strange trip al corrosive and wilder side of the psychedelic music.

As to define them? Sincerely it is done me very difficult, but HALLUCINATION is a good expression to define them, above all if we keep in mind that these punks absolutely hanging with acid intend to do its explosive one coctel musical taking the essence of the garare psych more primitive of the 60 and the attitude of Stooges or MC5 on the one hand and the liberty of Pink Floyd ( Syd Barret era) or of Captain Beefheart by the other, is Psycodelic with high doses of strangeness, noise and a permanent background of decadence that will leave you trastocado if leave you to hypnotize for them..

This band of alienígenas is formed by Mr. Starry Night to the guitar soloist, Brian X. Rose to the voice and bass, Cliff Wilson on rhythm and vocals, MJB Wilson on drums and Tanya Torpedeau with the Farfisa. All are very competent musicians who like to give songs a chaotic air that is accentuated by a quite dirty production (for example, the voice is distorted during all the disk! !).

As for the opening theme that gives title the disk, on this occasion indicated as the version "Punk Side" (the final of the selection is found the version "Acid Side"). This theme is begun with a very aggressive form due to a powerful rhythmic bottom that emphasizes the fantastic bass of Rose (who does a great work on all the disk), in the center, like an explosion of light, a magnificent acid guitar solo arises. We continue with "The Space Inside my Head", that is a lysergic trip for two minutes based on a lot of distortion and an attitude close to the first Blue Cheer. Thus, they go from being themes that are more especially punks (or better simply chaotic!!) as can be "Flake Out", "Racetrack Charlie" or "Dots fill the Skies", court an extreme aggressiveness and built based on a blend of distorted shouts, burning guitars and a wild rhythmic bass. Next to these there are other (the great majority) with a more directly psychedelic tendency, with many more shades and that in my opinion are more interesting. Among these I will emphasize "The X-Ray", fearfully sung in a curious Spanish and that turns out to be really frantic to the extent of that the head can fly you. After this is the brilliant "Faces", that seems to have arisen directly from the most obscure single from the 60s. Also one must mention, "You stole my love", that has a riff of abrasive fuzz and an impressive guitar solo... a very good cut . "Baroque nº2" is of my favorite themes , with a tremendously good Farfisa that I liken to have very sharp to the limit of the hearing and with some entrances of brutal fuzz that make this cut a magisterial example of heavy psych.

All in all, a radioactive disk that leaves narcotic smoke on all sides, made with an attitude from the margins of all marketability and that you will like if you enjoy the dark and most hallucinatory and obscure artifacts of the 60s psychedelic underground .
