Details:
Combining progressive rock influences such as Rush and King Crimson with a modern hard rock sound, this collective of virtuoso musicians from South Wales are anything but your average rock band.
Fans of The Who, Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin will be equally as enthralled as those who appreciate heavier rock music such as Pantera and Soundgarden. Alternative rock fans will not be disappointed either as there is also a large dosage of modern rock influences in the Time Circus' music, namely from bands such as Muse and Porcupine Tree, as well as slightly more byzantine musical heroes like Frank Zappa and Dream Theater.
The Time Circus have prepared well. Bassist and acknowledged Paganini of the deep Richard Hankinson earned his craft in numerous local acts. Wowing audiences with his blend of chops and sheer musical innovativeness, Hank is inspired by pioneering rock bassists such as Billy Sheehan (Mr. Big) and Geddy Lee (Rush).
Lead guitarist Matt Collins is also a well known name on the local circuit having thrashed, burned and destroyed audiences with his mind blowing guitar pyrotechnics citing influences as varied as Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull) and Nuno Bettencourt (Extreme).
Drummer and multi-instrumentalist John.W.Honour provides the rhythmic lynchpin for the act, combining complex polyrhythmic conundrums with powerful song-felt grooves. John takes his cues from percussive heroes Virgil Donati (Planet X) and Neil Peart (Rush).
On vocals, guitar and keyboard is Daniel Karl Morgan, a stalwart of the South Wales music scene who has regularly displayed his prowess as a solo performer in select acoustic gigs. Lyrically Daniel is inspired by great story-telling vocalists such as Peter Gabriel (Genesis) and Bob Dylan. As a guitarist he is heavily influenced by Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin).
The Time Circus has just completed recording its debut CD, and touring should commence early 2007. Watch this space and follow the Time Circus.
