This is an all steel-string acoustic instrumental that is relaxing yet energizing and is full of interesting and passonate phrasing over exotic chord voicings.
15 MP3 Songs
EASY LISTENING: Soft Rock, ROCK: Instrumental Rock
Details:
This CD was inspired by Michael Schenker's "Thank You" CD.
I was amazed what a full sounding recording could be made with just a 6 & 12 string guitar when multitracked. I knew I could do it too.
I wanted to create a CD that was beautiful and relaxing, yet energizing and full of my most intense and interesting playing.
Castle Ghosts is that vision set to music.
I have been playing music professionally in Louisville for the last 20 years. I've played with Louisville favorites Titan and RUOK and am currently in RipRoar, a 5 piece hard rock band. In support of the CD I will be playing clubs just in the Louisville area.
In addition to that, I've been teaching guitar here in town for 26 years. I think I've taught half this town to play.

Louisville-based acoustic guitarist Tim Pitts' debut release, Castle Ghosts is a fifteen track collection of steel-string rock and easy listening numbers that bounces with melodic guitar lines.
Highlights such as "Wooden Man", "Flight Of The Phoenix", "The 11:11 Suite" and the title track display Pitts' abilities to relate stories using engaging music instead of carefully crafted prose.
Castle Ghosts also showcases Pitts' talents at blending bluesy and jazzy phrasing into his compositions to add color, texture and interest.
Acoustic fans will certainly enjoy this almost one hour of steely articulations and lush soundscapes.
1. Flight of the Phoenix (4:01)
This song has it all, exotic tuning, delicate melodies, intense harmonized lines, beautiful chord changes, harmonics. As with all songs, the rhythm is doubled on 12 string.
2. Castle Ghosts (3:51)
Classical styling with a spanish flare this song features the most feeling I can put into my playing, harmonized 12 strings and some speedy playing. All single note melody, no rhythm strumming.
3. Sleepy Hollow (4:20)
This is a fast paced song with beautiful picked passages and contains my favorite melodies. Altered tuning was used.
4. The 11:11 Suite (2:37)
This song features verses that are completely harmonized and a 12 string counter melody. A very pretty and full sounding song. The name comes from the "11:11" phenomena which I experience.
5. Wooden Man (3:15)
A very upbeat song with some great counter melodies. This is the only one I play the lead parts in an altered tuning. Altered tuning was used.
6. Song of the Sirens (3:41) A very mystical sounding song with great arpeggios, chorus melody and intense playing. Altered tuning was used.
7. Candle Lantern (5:01)
This is a slow paced song that features some of my most beautiful composition. A good blend of Intense and delicate phrasing. Altered tuning was used.
8. Mayan Sun Gods (5:06)
A very upbeat song with some great chord changes and harmonies. My favorite song ending. Altered tuning was used.
9. Moroccan Sunrise (2:00)
Very exotic and spanish sounding. It features a beautiful single note melody with cool counter melodies and harmonized lines. No rhythms, just single note lines.
10. Shadows in the Night (4:28)
This is perhaps the most beautiful and touching ballad on the CD. No rhythms, just single note lines.
11. Silver Star (3:42)
This song has a nice mellow verse section and some very intense harmonized lines in the chorus. The solos are long and well developed.
12. Autumns' Calling (2:39)
A very beautiful song composed of just one flowing melody. No harmonized lines or counter melodies were needed. Altered tuning was used.
13. A Christmas Wish (3:58)
Similar to The 11:11 suite this song features verses that are completely harmonized and some of my best counter melodies. Altered tuning was used.
14. Classic 1875 (1:14)
A unique song that blends classical and jazz stylings. The only song that is played finger style on the CD. This was my most challenging song to compose. Very cool.
15. Moonbow (3:54)
Another beautiful upbeat song with great chord changes. An alternate tuning and a capoe were used. All selections composed and performed by Tim Pitts
