The Donks at their best. Straight studio jams that are lightly edited. This CD is a cross between acid jazz, funk and bluegrass. Smokin.
14 MP3 Songs
JAZZ: Jazz Fusion, COUNTRY: Bluegrass
Details:
Whimsical would best describe how most of the music we make comes into being. We get the hankering to jam and get together and "just do it". SOME of our songs are written and planned out, but for the most part all of our stuff just happens spontaneously. Most of the stuff comes out really good, but some of it is horrible. Not to worry though - we have gotten rid of that stuff long before we start editing the final CD.
This installment is no different. It is a compilation of three distinct jam sessions with all the uglies removed. Most of the songs are in their original form except for a slight edit here and there. And as a general rule there has been no patching or filtering done to these tracks. Pretty much what you hear is what we played. We feel that if you can't make it sound good live (as it goes onto "tape"), then it will never sound good no matter what we do to it in post.
The Grand Papa Donks are going to be taking the show on the road soon and will be releasing new CD's straight off the stage shows going forward. We will still be releasing studio stuff as well, but the time has come to strike out into the great wide open and see what pops up from there.
