Take two scoops 80's hair rock, one quart modern rock sophistication, equal portions lyrical depth and attitude, and mix together. Bake for twenty minutes at 375 degrees. Then enjoy a hard and heavy dose of TK-421.
10 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Hard Rock, ROCK: Modern Rock
Details:
*** Finally... the highly anticipated follow-up to their debut release "Hollow", may we proudly present "Disengaged". Picking up right where they left off, TK-421 cranks up the volume for their first full length album release. ***
This CD is something anyone with fond memories of the LA club scene of the mid 80s needs to listen to, yet it comes through as being fresh, original and only distantly influenced by its heavy metal forefathers.
The vocals are rangy and emotive, going from evocatively sensitive to soaring, sonic and hair-raising in the space of a single bridge. Nicely punctuated with harmonies that blend smoothly, the lyrics aren't the trite stuff some rock & roll is made of. Rather, these songs look deeper into the relationships and social dysfunction that gave them birth and give us more to think about than anything you're likely to find in the average metal catalog.
This band also understands the meaning of and need for a good hook, and the guitars just keep them coming. Utilizing both electric and acoustic guitars, this CD is full of stuff you might find yourself unable to get out of your head the next day. That, ladies and gentlemen, is a hook!
This is a band that deserves to be heard on a much larger scale.
