I love a good instrumental guitar based CD when I can get my hands on one.
Kevinâs guitar playing is amazing, he knows his way around the neck very well, and very fast. The guy has so much feeling behind his playing and every note is crystal clear, you canât help but play some air guitar along with it, although I doubt Iâm even close to what heâs playing. His crunchy rhythms are as thick and bold as something youâd expect to hear from the likes of Anthrax while his solos and leads remind me a lot of STEVE VAI or JOE SATRIANI.
Also, some instrumental musicians make the horrible mistake of making their songs way too long. I guess it must have something to do with the mentality of since there are no vocals, thereâs more opportunity to show off your guitar skills, but this tends to get boring fast. Kevin doesnât have this problem, he knows when he has a good thing and he doesnât stretch out the songs just to show off, he plays the music, does what has to be done, and ends the song.
Instrumental music with the mainrole for the guitars but also frequently playing the piano. The riffs are melodic, furious or acoustic and tender. And when he is not riffing he is sweating on the leads. Tempo of the songs are mid and up tempo but it swings.
Instrumental progressive rocker Kevin Zugschwert adds more fantastic guitar solos than he has consonants in his name. The lead guitar is by far the spotlight on the album. Anybody with a guitar and amp and a love for guitar acrobatics would by far want to listen in.
