Details:
The arts have always played a major role in Christopher Zerbeâs family and ancestry. Born in the Monterey Bay area of Carmel, California,
Christopher was exposed to many genres of the arts and in particular, music at an early age.
Christopherâs grandfather, Wassil Lolov was the conductor for the Bulgarian Symphony Orchestra in Sofia, Bulgaria. His grandmother, Boyka Zivadinovich was a famous opera singer and was very well-known throughout Eastern Europe. Anthony Zerbe, Christopherâs uncle, is an Emmy award winning character actor with many major motion pictures, theater performances, and television appearances to his credit. Christopherâs cousin, Jennet Zerbe has enjoyed a life long career as a dancer with The American Ballet Theater. Additionally, his father, Athanas Lolov carries a PhD in music theory and has spent his lifeâs work crafting violins and violas by hand.
From an early age Christopherâs upbringing exposed him to these arts which began his personal journey into the world of music. His two sisters, while in their teens, began playing pop and rock records further influencing young Christopherâs musical influences towards pop, folk, and rock music. By 14, Christopher was playing in an original band and has worked his craft ever since, perfecting and honing both his performing and writing skills along the way.
At the age of 20, while living in Santa Barbara, California, Christopher moved to Los Angeles and began a 10-year career as a recording engineer and producer. He now uses those experiences, talents and abilities to create his own recording projects.
Christopherâs songs have been described as âa chewy blend between California pop and shadowy European styles.â Christopher incorporates big chorus hooks and chiming guitars that will stick with you well after youâve hit âStopâ on your music player. Often compared to Fleetwood Mac, Lindsey Buckingham, and The Beach Boys, in both song writing and performance, listeners are sure to go home hungry for more of his memorable and well-crafted melodic songs.
'Those Paris Nights' is his latest offering and unlike his self-titled debut, this album is thematic and reminiscent of earlier groups who released single themed records in years past. Melodic rock in style, lyrically one is taken through the trials and tribulations of the dark, shadowy underbelly of certain relationships and the metaphysical journeys they can induce. Both European and American in approach, 'Those Paris Nights' is a auditory treat for the pop and rock enthusiast
