Details:
Amanuel Zemichael

Amanuel Zemichael was born and raised in Senafe, Eritrea in East Africa.

As early as his 9th birthday, Amanuel claims that he used to listen to different kinds of music from everywhere in the world. He remembers especially those from his motherland Eritrea. Some of his favorite songs from other countries included Amharic, English, and Indian songs.

Not knowing the language or not understanding the words of some of the songs that he used to enjoy did not refrain Amanuel from appreciating them, from enjoying them, and from getting in touch with the music.

Music has become part of his life, he says, since he was in elementary school. Since then, he started writing songs and poems for different occasions, and celebrations

He recorded his first single song named "Hzbey" in Asmara, Eritrea in 2001. The positive responses he got from his fans gave him more encouragement to create more music.

In 2002, Amanuel participated at the International Society of Poets in Washington DC. It was an excellent opportunity to share his talent with the world.

He says the pride and hope he captured during that session were much more greater than the awards he received.
