Steven Zelin is an approachable original performer and musician whose musical style uniquely captures the confusing and amusing cross-currents facing the smart, ironic young city dweller today.

At age 17, Zelin traded in his violin for an electric guitar after being blown away by Queensryche's "Silent Lucidity." While honing his musical skills he has developed a unique, intimate, lyric style in the alternative folk tradition of Bob Dylan and Simon & Garfunkel.

A native of Brooklyn, NY, Zelin knew he was a musician at age 12 when he started singing at summer camp. Now, at a ripe old, 29, Zelin is an accomplished musician. He writes and performs intelligent, romantic, occasionally humorous material perfectly reflecting the young male in the big city lifestyle facing 21st century slippery slopes.

He chooses small rooms to woo and win his audiences like intimate coffeehouses, bars, restaurants, and small arenas. This intimacy encourages the sense of empathy he creates with listeners who live the confusions and ironies of the contemporary subjects his unique original lyrics reflect. The music is deceptively simple at first blush. Only upon reflection does the audience recognize the classic underbelly supporting the totally contemporary topics.

Most notably, he has performed as a soloist at New York City's famed Sidewalk Cafe and with his full band in New York, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Mexico.
