Details:
Glissandi is a Niagara based trio who have performed together for over twelve years in Canada and the UK. They are featured regularly in Niagaraâs top venues and finest wineries. They each enjoy active musical careers and are members of the Niagara Symphony. Peace is the third CD in a continuing series.

Douglas Miller is a well-established freelance musician. He has performed with the National Ballet Orchestra, the Toronto Symphony, the Hamilton Philharmonic, as well as in Toronto productions of Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Crazy For you, Jane Eyre and Jolson. In the Lion King, and The Lord of the Rings, he played a collection of ethnic bamboo flutes, several of which he built himself. In 2005 he toured North America with Hal Princesâs production of EVITA, celebrating the showâs 25th anniversary. He can be heard regularly on the CBC TV series Road to Avonlea and has recorded the flute solo in the theme music for David Suzuki's The Nature of Things. Mr. Miller earned a Master of Music in flute performance from the University of Toronto, a Bachelor of Music and a Licentiate with Distinction in Saxophone from McGill University. He has been a member of the Shaw Festival Orchestra in various productions since 1991, and is a founding member of the Gallery Players of Niagara. He has been principal flute with the Niagara Symphony since 1985, and currently resides in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Deborah Braun is currently the principal harpist with the Niagara Symphony. She has performed with the NSA since 1992. She has also performed in with Chorus Niagara and various chamber ensembles throughout Ontario. Deborah began her studies on the harp with Doris Sharing, former principal harpist with the NSA. Since that time she studied with Suzanne Thomas of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, and Eileen Malone at the Eastman School of Music and with Eileen Pamphilon in Cambridge England. She has earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Brock University with her performance credits granted by Eastman School of Music. To her credit, Deborah has recorded on many CDâs for various groups and artists in the Niagara Region.

Performing in chamber ensembles is of particular interest to Deborah. She enjoys performing with the Gallery Players, a well established chamber ensemble in the Niagara area, and of course most often with her husband David and their trio Glissandi--a harp, flute, and violin combination that has just recently finished recording their third CD. She resides in Fonthill, ON with her husband and three children.

David Braun began his studies on the violin at the age of seven. His family having relocated numerous times allowed David to experience instruction from a number of teachers in various methods. Davidâs introduction to orchestral playing was with the Niagara Youth Orchestra in St. Catharines.
After high school David earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from Northwestern College in Roseville Minnesota. During his time in Minneapolis David was able to tour internationally as Concert master of the Continental Singers and Orchestra and of the Communique Singers and Orchestra. While in Minneapolis, David studied with Roger Frisch, Associate Concert Master of the Minnesota Orchestra.
David has been a member of the Niagara Symphony Association since 1989 and has been performing with Glissandi since its inception in 1992. In addition to his career as a freelance musician, David and has also works for the District School Board of Niagara as a secondary school music educator since. He currently teaches music at Centennial High School in Welland ON.
