Writer, sculptor, composer, illustrator, actor, singer, lecturer, and inventor, Gordon Goodman spent most of his boyhood on a large cattle ranch in California raising cattle and breaking horses.
He wrote his first musical at age 11 and began composing piano concertos by age 12.
At 16 he began a career as a baritone soloist with prestigious symphonies all over the world, he went on to sing or record with: the London City Symphony, Prague Symphony, West Side Symphony, Pasadena, Phoenix, Utah, San Diego Symphonies; Los Angeles Baroque Orchestra - the movies: Flatliners, Dracula, The Postman, Star Trek VI, Star Trek Generations, Twister, Independence Day, Devilʼs Advocate, Sum of All Fears, A.I, Triple X, and has been under the baton or alongside the keyboard of Composers: John Williams, Jerry Goldsmith, Randy Edelman, Bruce Broughton, and Henry Mancini.
As a young professional actor, many historic entertainers became fascinated by Gordonâs artistic gifts in so many areas of art. They encouraged him to pursue these areas while he continued to act. He followed their advice. Through the years he has performed dozens of roles for the professional stage across U.S. such as: the Prince and the Wolf in Into the Woods, Charlie in Annie get Your Gun, Jud in Oklahoma, Dr. Craven in Secret Garden, Lancelot in Camelot, the Duke in Big River, Matt Burke in Anna Christie, the Professor in Gilliganâs Island the Musical, Pierre in The Merry Widow, and Jigger in Carousel, with television or film roles in ThinkTank, Century City, The New Family Affair, General Hospital, Passions, Man Trouble, 21 Jump Street, and In Living Color. He has worked with Bob Hope, Jack Nicholson, John Raitt, Johnny Depp, Rich Little, Jim Carrey, Steve Martin, Tim Curry plus many others and has appeared in many Television Commercials.
His abilities in Photography, Charcoal Portraits, Paintings, Illustration, and Sculpture surfaced early with most of his work in private collections across the country.
He has a B.A. in Business, certifications in many fields, (even one for artificial insemination from Carnation Genetics), a black belt, a Masters in Psychology and is currently working on his PhD in Media Psychology. He has toured the U.S. giving lectures on subconscious behavior, holds close to 50 copyrights are in his name, Trademarks and patents pending on series of products including toys, card games and Computer Programs. Gordon Goodman is the author and illustrator of a many childrenâs books fully produced on audio. One of his latest, EMMA AND THE GOBBLETYGOOS, is dramatized by a cast from âDays of Our Livesâ, the proceeds going to children with eye cancer (RBI) http://www.retinoblastoma.net/.
With his HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME, Mr. Goodman directs a large professional cast of musical theatre artists from L.A. and N.Y performing his musical adaptation of Victor Hugoâs classic, creating a first of its kind musical audiobook .
