Ethereal gothic rock with female vocals, influenced by early 80's post punk and early 90's shoegaze...
12 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Goth, ROCK: Modern Rock
Details:
faded sympathy is Gary Thrasher (bass and programming), Bethaney Fryer (vocals), and Johnny Mihal (guitars and programming).
Combining the post-punk sounds of the early 80's, with the early 90's shoegazer swirly wall-of-sound approach, faded sympathy creates a dark alternative sound that truly reflects the bleak outlook of our times.
In 1996, Gary met Bethaney for the first time. She was dating one of the members of the band Gossamer while Gary was in the band.
Fast forward to fall 2001. Gary, fresh from his latest project, stare, joins up with Johnny, an out-of-towner who was hungry to get something going.
Over the next 2 years, Gary and Johnny made several aborted attempts to form something. In the fall of 2003, after the defection of their latest singer (the last in a long line), they try one more time to get something going.
Along came Bethaney, ready to step up to the microphone. They began to write songs at a fast and furious pace, and everyone knew it was a perfect fit. faded sympathy was born.
They have just released their debut self-titled record through negativeimage records, and are playing select shows, supporting acts such as Attrition, More Machine than Man, Between the Waters, and She Wants Revenge.
