Fire by Night is a band whose sound defies the labels that are commonly placed on grassroots operations such as theirs. It is the bandâs unassuming, accessible music coupled with their energetic and emotional live performance that has propelled them to popularity on the East Coast College scene and, soon, the rest of the U.S.
Since itâs creation, Fire by Night has evolved from a singer/songwriter duo to a full five-piece band. The current line-up was formed in February 2005 and consists of front man Michael Walton, lead guitarist e.schwank, drummer Bill Grillo and percussionist Justin Hirsch. The scope, depth, and diversity of their music are key to the groupâs overall sound. From the unforgettable melody of Brick by Brick to the bluesy, stomping groove of Dragonfly, the band continues to stretch their outlook on how and why they write music.
âWe are constantly changing,â says Walton, âso our approach to life and, in turn, our approach to music naturally changes with us.â

Highlights: Considering the groupâs short history, they have already accomplished a great deal. From their successful college tour to their live performance on NBCâs âThe 10! Showâ the buzz surrounding this New Jersey quintet has been spreading throughout the country. In fact, they have been fortunate enough to share the stage with great bands such as Benevento-Russo Duo, Justin King Band, and Saving Jane.
