Sweet Southern Gospel sounds.
12 MP3 Songs
GOSPEL: Country Gospel, GOSPEL: Contemporary Gospel
Details:
In the late 1940's Hovie Lister had a dream... to build the perfect quartet. It took him nearly four years, but what followed would be the standard by which all other quartets would be measured. The dignity, excitement, stage presence, and talent made the Statesmen a complete package, one that would stand the test of time. Whether on stage, radio or in a recording studio their sound was unparallel even by todayâs standard. Weâve tried to stay as true as possible to the original arrangements in this tribute dedicated to the memory of the greatest quartet ever.
This music and style has always driven me to live up to the musical standards put before me and to share with the next generation what was embedded in me from the time I uttered my first note. One thing Iâve learned while studying the Statesmen for this recording is that the message is the sameâ¦itâs still a timeless message of hope to bring a lost world to the saving power of Jesus.
For some, these songs will be new; yet to others, hopefully it will be a trip down memory lane. Whichever the case, we hope this great music which spans most of the decades the Statesmen sang will encourage you along lifeâs journey.
