Kathematics were born in January 2003 after singer, songwriter, guitarist Kath broke up her award-winning band KTV.
In January 2004 Kathematics released their debut, self-titled EP independently to an unsuspecting world. The EP recieved positive reviews and radio airplay resulting in it being sold out.
This sparked interest from Melbourne indie label Australian Records who released their second EP 'Do The Math' in October 2005 (Cat. AR0011) Without distribution the EP gained great reviews and still continues to recieve radio airplay.
Now 2006 is shaping up to be a huge year for Kathematics with not one, but two tracks from 'Do The Math' included on Queensland label Smashed Records compilation CDs, Payola 1 and 2. Positive reviews and airplay in Spain has led Kathematics to hook up with Smashed Records for their third EP 'Add It Up' which will be out in Aug/Sept. The EP will not only have distribution in Australia, it will also be available in Spain, Sweden, Japan and New Zealand.
Kathematics also continue to gain momentum in the U.K via their label Mohican Records, which includes both the debut EP and 'Do The Math' featured on I-Tunes in the U.K and Europe...now world domination seems that little bit closer!
Fronted by Kath (ex-KTV/Kill Krush Destroy), with bassist Leigh 'Lee Roy' Stancliffe and more drummers than Spinal Tap, their catchy pop/rock tunes will be running around in your head long after their gig is finished.
