It was the dead of Winter 2001 , the death metal scene was changing, becoming copied to death, and full of fakes.
In an attempt to preserve the true traditional death metal alive, lead guitarist/vocalist IVAN GALDAMEZ went on a mission to assemble a line up of true metalheads and keep the tradition going.
December of 2001 , he joined forces with drummer/vocalist ED BAUGH.
Going under the name Redrum, in April 2002 they released their first demo entitled âRedrum 2002â and continued their search to complete the line up.
In May of 2003 they were joined by a raw rhythm guitarist ANDREW RAFACZ who possessed the same passion for metal and dedication to tradition.
Due to conflicts with the band name, in June of 2003, they would change it and become WHORRID.
The launch of their website in November of 2003 would prove to be a success with the world-wide increase of their true metal fan following which kept WHORRID striving forward.
January 2004 brought the release of the second demo entitled âBitch Butchersâ
After many personal reasons on both sides, in July of 2004, they would part ways with Ed.
To their astonishment, by August 2004, a line up stronger than before would be assembled consisting of cold blooded drummer NARCYZ FORTUNA and bassist MARTIN LABUZ.
Shortly after recording of debut album âInfecting the Soulâ in 2005, Martin would be replaced by JAREK BADZIOCH.
