Dynamic Jazz Vocals and Piano deliver refreshing takes on American Songbook classics as well as original songs.
10 MP3 Songs
JAZZ: Bossa Nova, JAZZ: Jazz Vocals
Details:
"Inclined" is a lovely selection of the musical styles that Carol Welsman plays with great ease and flare. Her refreshing interpretations breathe new life into songs you have heard many times before like "One Note Samba". She sings it in its origianl portuguese. Another gem on this album is Carol's jazzed version of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star". Catch the authentic samba feel on "Fais Comme L'Oiseau". Carol shows off her song-writing abilites with "Inclined", "Wings to Fly" and "New Day". This CD flows beautifully from beginning to end.
It was recorded in Toronto, Canada in 1996 and received a Juno Award nomination for "Best Contemporary Jazz Album" in 1977.
"Twinkle Twinkle Little Star"- My thanks to brother Paul who contributed to the arrangement of this well known tune. One evening, when nephew Andrew would not sleep, Paul and I sang this slightly jazzy version, and he settled at once. It is now Andrewâs regular request.
