An accomplished singer, percussionist, guitarist and songwriter, King Wawa was born on the island of Haiti and has lived in Port-au-Prince and other cities around the world. He has grown up performing folkloric and traditional Haitian and African music. Wawa lived in the neighborhood of the most well known musical groups, including Nemour Jean Baptiste, the creator of "Compas Direct", a style of music popular with many Haitian bands. King Wawa's love and gift for music quickly distinguished him in Haiti's music scene where he frequently played Afro-Caribbean music and Haitian popular music with many well established local and international bands.

Currently based in Berkeley, California, King Wawa established The Oneness Kingdom Band in 1994. He has performed at many well-known clubs, festivals and events, has toured California, Oregon, Washington, and Haiti, and has recently returned from guest appearances in Tennessee, New York, Canada and Japan. He is not only an accomplished singer, percussionist, guitarist and songwriter - King Wawa is also passionate about spreading a message of spiritual enlightenment and well-being to all people. Singing songs of peace, love, social justice and politics, King Wawa uses his music as a vehicle to raise awareness of not only the Haitian people's economic and political hardships, but of all communities in need from all over the world. He does this with joy, authority and authenticity while bringing together listeners of all backgrounds and nationalities.

King Wawa and The Oneness Kingdom Band celebrated the release of their debut album, Oneness, in 1998. The album received extensive airplay on radio stations on the East and West coasts as well as in Haiti. King Wawa's newest album, "Respect Movement" recently released at Berkeley's Ashkenaz in February 2006, is the "spiritual soundtrack to deliver the healing power of love and humanhood to all." Fans of King Wawa's music have also noted that the essence of this music will bring enlightenment to the soul, the heart, the body and the mind with the unique purpose to take us to a "Sea of High Understanding" and communication with ourselves and others. It is King Wawa's belief that when we respect ourselves and others, the world will become a better place for all humankind, leaving us more united and setting out a safer path for our chlldren to follow.

The new millennium will find King Wawa and The Oneness Kingdom Band continuing their musical mission of delivering the best in uplifting and danceable music loved by audiences everywheree.
