Details:
A talented composer and multi-instrumentalist, Wade Evans has created an entirely self-produced work that draws from his numerous musical influences. Within the the album "Come to the River", one may hear the diverse influences from Celtic, folk, Hindustani, Latin, reggae, western classical and acoustic rock sources. The album flows continuously, like a river, blended together with field recordings from his travels through North America, Latin America, Asia, and the Indian subcontinent. The lyrics tend to be thoughtful and spiritually uplifting, with an overall sense of optimism and mysticism. According to Wade, the songs "seemed to write themselves. For instance, 'Into the Mystery' was heard in a dream while in Varanasi, India, the morning of the Shivaratri festival. As it appears on the album, you can hear the sounds of Varanasi as heard from a boat floating down the Ganges river at sunrise. The sounds of the oars in the water, the ringing of the bells, and the blowing of the conches amidst the soundscape blend so perfectly with the music that to listen to the song is somewhat of a surreal experience. There was a power feeling of magic and syncronicity throughout the production of this album that was undeniable. I feel blessed to have been part of it!"
