Wayne captures the raw sounds of late 1950âs Rock N Roll on the first two cuts of the album with his vocal on âDaddy Coolâ and Lead Guitar on the instrumental âShakedownâ.

The next four songs on the album are a mixture of early 1960âs 4-part harmonies and vocals featuring âThe Uniquesâ. Three of the songs were written by Wayneâs good friend Sammy Stray and are reminiscent of some of the great vocal groups of the 50âs and 60âs, with a blend of commercial doo-wop and pop.

âWe Know the Scoreâ, is an instrumental with an early 1960âs âMotownâ sound, featuring a (bluesy) piano and brass section with cutting edge guitar and bass.

The next cut is a definite salute to and sound alike of, âThe Four Seasonsâ with Wayneâs 1964 lead vocal on the song âOne Nightâ backed with a 2-part falsetto lead with Sammy Stray on âLonely Loversâ. These two songs were actually co-produced at the time by Tommy DeCillis and Nick Massey and Tommy Devito of âThe Four Seasonsâ.

The last two cuts on the album take us to 1966 and the height of the British Invasion with Wayneâs group âThe Mostâ and the songs âSea Of Miseryâ and âWeâll Make Out All Rightâ.

This CD is a musical journey through a number of different genres covering the mid 1950âs to the mid 1960âs with easy listening, crisp, toe tapping, happy music. So you can either, get up and dance or sit back, relax and just listen to the music.

Wayne, a native of New Jersey, began his musical journey by taking guitar lessons as a youngster. He began mimicking records and songs he heard on the radio while playing along on his guitar. He realized at an early age that he liked music and singing and playing his guitar. His first band, formed around 1955 called âThe Linairesâ (named after his home town of linden, NJ) was his first professional entry into the music business. The band consisted of a number of changing members over the next few years. Eddie Thur, Bobby Baran, Vinnie Livolsi, Frank Renaud, Freddie Terranova, Richard Soldo, just to mention a few. As a 14 year old teenager his band began performing at local PAL dances, parties and other affairs with his high school band members. They made a number of records at the local recording studio, most of which have been lost to time. Wayne sang and played his way into what became a musical career lasting over 30 years.

Wayne, together with his good friend Art Perlman formed his second band called âThe Bonnevillesâ about 1957. It was about this time that Wayne met Sammy Stray, another talented singer/songwriter and they put together a singing group called âThe Uniquesâ. And so it went, even though the names of the groups changed over the years (The Linaires, The Bonnevilles, The Uniques, The Illusions, The Four Kings, The Most and Together) the core members basically remained the same, developing into life-long friendships along the way.

Wayneâs music spanned Rock-N-Roll, Doo-Wop, The British Invasion, Rock-A-Billy and traversed thru such artists as The Platters, Chuck Berry, Elvis Presley, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones The Eagles etc. The songs included on this CD are those that were recorded professionally, beginning in 1958 with âDaddy Coolâ which was a big fan favorite at the local Friday night dances at the Linden PAL and ending with âSea of Miseryâ in 1966. One of the two instrumental songs on the CD, were written by Wayne as a teenager. Three of the songs were penned by good friend Sammy Stray, who himself is still active on the music scene. This compilation was a labor of love intended to showcase the legacy of Wayneâs music. Although Wayne formally stopped performing in the early eighties, the music and his legacy still live on.
