Hard Rock with a Dirty Soul.

5 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Modern Rock, ROCK: Funk Rock

Details:
Formed in 2004, The Warm Gunns were born when guitarist Mark Dannells and frontman Cris Cox joined forces to create the greatest band they never heard. Combined with the superpowers of drummer Reg Rogers and bassist Patrick Kelly, The Warm Gunns came into being. The dynamic result is no surprise since members of the band have played with acclaimed artists such as Skid Row, Butch Walker, Angie Aparo and The Goodies. Each band member brings their own mojo to the table to make a BIG, NEW, FILTHY, BEAUTIFUL noise.

The Warm Gunns bring the spirit of REVOLUTION that truly honors the sum of their influences without sounding identical to any of them. Imagine a late 70's Rolling Stones/late 80's Cult hybird fronted by the bastard child of David Lee Roth, Johnny Rotten and Prince. Hard Rock with a Dirty Soul, baby...

Review 1

The Warm Gunns consumed the stage with its beautiful, filthy presence. Lead singer Cris Cox channeled the spririt of Bowie, Jagger, Prince and Iggy into his stage show...During the set, for
every too-cool-for-this-indie scenester who stared at the Gunns with mouths agape, there was someone else with devil horns in the air screaming with his or her (mostly hers) might. The line
for the Warm Gunns' merch table stretched halfway down the back of the club wall. In all fairness to the Gunns, they won the crowd over and were much loved...

Review 2

The Warm Gunns are everything you want from a rock band - dirty, sexy, raw, infectious driving rhythms clever songwriting and an entertaining live show. The real deal!

Review 3

[The Warm Gunns]...send up their praise to the gods of hard rock and mod culture, stopping along the way to baptize themselves in the river Jordan that is modern pop.
This is all pretty evident after listening to their debut album DARK FUN. However, whatâs also evident is how amazingly well they make this formula work. The core of the
Gunnsâ songwriting lies in the capable hands of vocalist/percussionist Cris Cox and resident jack-of-all-trades Mark Dannells, who plays pretty much every instrument at a rock
bandâs disposal throughout the course of the album. You would need a detailed diagram to figure out who exactly is playing what on each track, but the band's vision is so
uniformly implemented doing so would be sort of pointless anyway.
The most striking musical characteristic noticed when starting up the disc lies in Coxâs vocals, which carry a much higher register tha ordinarily expected. The deviations
continue popping up throughout the album, such as the hand claps on the stand-out âWho Do Youâ (The Letter)â and in the almost New Order-dance cadence that drives
âAll for the Money.â Guitars bounce and slink around the mix rather than crunch, giving one the impression this is what many a bar rock band could sound like if they just put
down the Jack for a minute and learned to groove Like The Stones in their prime. As much as they borrow from the past, however, The Warm Gunns never sound like
anything but themselves.
