Details:
The Wayweird Souls are two guys with more imagination than common sense. And left unsupervised, songs like âIt Sucks To Be A Vampireâ are what happens.
Garry Corman and Dave Smith are The Wayweird Souls. Two songwriters mainly, and performers occasionally, they often get together to write songs to pitch to that Ungodly Beast known as âThe Industryâ. These efforts have generated a few small victories â cuts on independent artistâs CDs, a song or two on internet radio, and once, even a bit of music in a commercial on Latin TV. And Garry does quite a bit of musical composition for his synagogue. Daveâs a card carrying heathen so no self respecting religious institution would take his work. But we digress.
The latest offering by The Wayweird Souls, âIt Sucks To Be A Vampireâ was an idea Dave had for a song. Garry had a few hours to kill and decided, âwhat the hell â letâs give it a spinâ. And so you have it.
With the expert help of Kevin Fisher, who played everything on this single except the Didgeridoo, and who engineered, recorded and mixed this puppy, it became something to be proud of. Kevin is truly âDa Soul Manâ and has become one with The Wayweird Souls.
But it needed someone who could give it that âKing of the Coffinâ sound to make it whole. Just that was found in the vocal stylings of one Brent Pierce, a man who, no doubt, has both talent and a keen sense of the absurd. Count Brentula put down the vocal that made the song truly a cult classic. And besides that, he does one helluva Mark Spicoli imitation. A Wayweird Soul indeed.
And thus was born this single. The Wayweird Souls hope you enjoy it as much they enjoyed writing and recording it.
