Wax American plays rock that is flat-out tough (check out the guitar solo on "Jennifer"), and Wax American's debut CD, Deceiver, is a huge blanket of guitars, vocals, and drums--enjoy.
6 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Modern Rock, POP: Power Pop
Details:
"Deceiver is a huge blanket of guitars, vocals, and drums!"
Wax American got together in Morgantown, West Virginia (while Greg was finishing up at WVU). They began playing shows locally and worked on getting what they wanted: a huge, full sound using relatively sparse arrangements. This combination proved successful and Wax American was on it's way.
After college, the band started playing out. At a Punk Rock Matinee show (in the back room of the Horse and Cart in Charleson) the band met Tasos (now of Ocean Tribe), his band Eurogression, and his record label Street Records.
The guys in Eurogression gave Wax American great information and lots of help with the indie rock business. Then, Wax American put out a single ("Thirsty Thirsty Girl") on Street Records' Holy City Punks compilation CD.
After that, plans shaped up for Wax American's debut CD, Deceiver! Tasos helped shape the sound for the CD and the result is one powerful first release for Wax American. Deceiver is now released by the band, so try some free samples and order your copy of Deceiver today! Enjoy!

Poor production aside, the vocals are painful to listen to. Maybe they should worry less about the fuzz on the bass and get a guy that could sing. Guitars are okay. I dont hear the "blanket of lush guitar" they describe, but there is guitar, it is doing its job.
