-----------------The Album...
Here it is. The collective infusion of memory. The nostalgic contemplation on the whole thing, written on a beat up old guitar. It is a picture of a man devoid of anger and left with moments. Poetic and original, it is as much the moist and red curtained window to the mind as it is an indepentant film of a life. The band explodes into the "Mr. Freakshow" refrain with a desperate notion of introspection, as it all moves on from there; a declaration of tragic and graceful beauty with contrast and subtlety. This album feels like what the best dreamers see. It is acoustic and electric, full band and solo guitar, sung and sometimes spoken, and subtly familiar but always new. With surprises lurking in the sound, the music is infused with the whisper of life as it emerges hopeful, and exposes the feeling, always the feeling.
-----------------The Songwriter...
Writing songs has always been something that Crazy Jane Records artist, Jack Waldheim, has done. Growing up in Western MA, he began writing songs on a piano his mother bought for him to try. Using words and sound to reflect the life around him, most of "Jane" was written on his old guitar while he was pursuing a B.A. in Literature at Westfield State College, working weekends at a local music store he had been employed at since he was fourteen, and playing guitar in bars and clubs. These songs were sketched from these experiences, and inspired by literature, film, poetics, and the eyes of a man in awe of a world, such as this one is.
After finally finding the time to record his debut album, Jack Waldheim has arrived. Realizing an album that is unlike anything else. Here it is. Be careful with it...
