Jazz Guitarist Walter Rodrigues, Jr. was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Walter picked the guitar very early in his life as he grew up listening to bossa nova, samba and gospel music. His love for jazz started when he first listened to recordings of Joe Pass and Helio Delmiro.
In 1989 Walter moved to LA, to study at the Musicians Institute (GIT), where he had lessons with Ron Eschete, Joe Diorio, Scott Henderson and Peter Sprague, among others.

In 1992, Walter was offered a scholarship at the Florida International University, in Miami, where he graduated in jazz performance.

Walter has been living in Miami since, and has performed with several local musicians, including Arturo Sandoval among others. He has also composed and arranged many songs for a variety of groups and self-published a book entitled "Practical Harmony". Lately, he has been working on new projects, performing and teaching.

More over, Walter's music speaks for itself. His first album "Beyond Words" consists of a fine selection of his own compositions, backed by top-notch musicians.
