Biography
Born in Oklahoma, Wyatt inherited his love of country music through the church where his father was a minister. Wyatt sang for the churchgoers all across the south and most of the mid west. He soon graduated to performing in clubs and opening for acts like John Michael Montomery, Travis Tritt, Tanya Tucker, Doug Stone, Joe Diffie, Aaron Tippin, Ray Price, Chris LeDoux and many more.
Wyatt rose from relative obscurity at age 19, to be chosen the lead male vocalist for âMusic Country USAâ. Born Wilbur Lee Tucker and known on the rodeo circuit as Wilbur Lee Tucker, he promoted a classic cowboy image, complete with a sound inspired by traditional country music. He performed at a âDay in the Countryâ with this new title in front of an estimated 68,000 people. This extravaganza featured some of Nashvilleâs biggest recording artists.
It was a few years later that Joe Galante would see Wyatt perform. Joe Galante was so impressed with Wyatt that he was offered a production deal with RCA and a writing contract with Sony/Tree. This turned out to be a hard time for a new artist due to the corporate changes taking place on âMusic Rowâ. In the meantime, Wyatt was lost in the shuffle. Having limited time before the changes took effect and his deal was pulled, he rushed into the studio to cut his first CD âLetâs Get It Onâ. It was his good fortune that he was able to work with some very talented people in the music industry like Don Cook, Bruce Bouton, Joe Spivey, and Rob Hajacos, just to name a few. Devastated after losing his production contract, he continued to work. His reputation as both performer and writer continued to grow and as it turned out, he would have several years to ponder and mature.
In spite of these hardships, he allowed his faith in God and his love of country music to continue in the business. Inspired by Joe Galanteâs initial words, âyour gonna be a big star one dayâ, Wyatt stayed true to his dream.
Wyatt Laine has re-emerged on the country music scene and is back in the studio, working with the independent group LSGR . He is collaborating with some of the finest musicians and writers in Nashville. LSGR is managing and producing Wyattâs new project and is hopeful for a release late this summer. In the meantime, Wyatt has embraced the opportunity for his vocal ability to mature, putting his pen to paper is enabling him to explore his creative writing style, while choosing the right material for his upcoming CD â makes perfect senseâ.
