GOSPEL: Contemporary Gospel, BLUES: Delta Style
Details:
Laura is a poet at heart, and a bit of a prophet in songwriting. She's lived in Pennsylvania, Montana, Colorado, California, South Africa and traveled lots of places. Being a student of the world keeps her mind working and her soul open.
Her friends believe she is a flagrantly open book, but she says she has a very private side and enjoys time alone to hear God, make music or read, write and travel.
She loves to worship but she detests what she hears as "pansy commercial writing" in some spiritual circles and has given us this effort as a thoughtful responder to life and God.
She credits the making of this album to her husband's affection for her and ability to work like she can't, and to Mike Flack who offered her a deal she couldn't refuse, and to Rick Williams, her partner in crime, who plays and sings like no-body's business.
Rick has played acoustic rock cover tunes--it seems like--
forever. All drugged up, he was offered a recording contract straight out of high school, but ended up choosing God and his wife instead. He stayed home and played guitar on his porch for years. His wife began to underscore all his music, and now runs sound for Worlds Apart concerts. After Rick found God, he fell in love with worship music, and found that worship was the best way he knew to express his love for Jesus. His wife introduced him to Laura and they became partners in ministry with praise and worship, then, in recording and performing original tunes.
Playing on Bridges is their premiere c.d. of combined styles.
