Thank you for the opportunity to stopping by my page! It's an honor!
I started my journey in the arts writing poems at the age of 9 under the sounds of bombs in downtown Beirut. I lived a 10 year war where I witnessed death with my own eyes numerous times. I left Beirut at the age of 18 when I got a scholarship to University of Arizona and studied music. I also studied at the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut for 2 years. I came to Canada in 1988 and I deserted my dream of becoming a singer/composer and pursued film and production instead. In 2008 it was evident that I wasn't happy at all in my field and got back to music to discover that I didn't loose my love to it nor talent. I produced my first album AFAF in 2009 in Arabic and dedicated it to my mother. In 2011 I completed my second album HOPE and released it in December of the same year. The same composer and producer Collin Young who believed in me and helped produce my first album, helped produce and compose the second one HOPE. Collin Young is a fantastic arranger/composer and possesses a fantastic talent and a special way in understanding a voice and working with it. I am delighted to introduce to you HOPE which is my first album in English and hopefully it gives hope to all my fans.
The Bitch song is dedicated to my Dog ANGIE who saved my life many times, I love her dearly, this song describes her very well and Angie is absolutely a main source of my inspiration. The song "Brother" I dedicate it to my brothers and to all the brothers in the world, we must love each other, we must forgive. I think this song which I wrote the lyrics and composed it comes from the heart.
THE TRUTH OF THE MATTER is as funky as it comes, I love funk! For the ones who like Funk definitely this song is for you. Also, THE GAME OF LIFE, is a funky tune that Collin Young composed beautifully, I had sent him the first 3 lines of the lyrics and said to him: "can you do something with these lyrics?" and definitely he gave me a gorgeous funky tune!
"Perfect Love" is a Pop/Dance song which was a nice experimental for me, I hope you like it. And "That's Me" is a lovely experimental for me Sinatra style, which I think a very suitable genra for my voice and I love it, I hope to do a whole album in that style. "Walking Down The Beach" is a Disco song which I grew up on, it's my kinda music, upbeat and happy! "The Clouds are Falling" is a gorgeous Ballad and very emotional. A great addition to the album and shows the qualities I have. Enjoy the album!
