The Sun Valley Carolers are a professional a cappella holiday performing group that are featured every year in Sun Valley Idaho. For two weeks during the holiday season they perform all throughout the village resort. They have become known for their lush, tight harmonies and novel arrangements. Their style is very much like that of vocal jazz a cappella ensembles such as "Manhattan Transfer" or the well known trend setting group "The Singers Unlimited". Consisting of 6 men and 6 women, the group has been a favorite in Sun Valley for the past 29 years. Group members change from time to time but the well rehearsed contemporary style and quality entertainment is always consistent. Many vocalists have gone on from performing with the SVC to professional careers, including the well known a cappella group "Eclipse". The SVC's sound has been described in words such as tight harmonies, exciting vocals, smooth sound, gorgeous blend, and impeccable ensemble work. The group often performs with the addition of Old English Handbells resulting in a beautiful and mesmerizing holiday sound.
