Our friend and engineer Mark Yeend first approached us to record the songs we'd been singing at different venues in the college town of Ellensburg, WA. We were young, new to studio recording, and thrilled about the opportunity.

Mark was an engineer at Triad Studios in Redmond, WA at the time and we were able to record our tracks for free on "bumpable" time, which meant that we could do our work there, but could be preempted by a paying customer. Much of this "bumpable" time was in the middle of the night. The thing is, Ellensburg and Redmond are separated by about a hundred miles and a mountain pass. We spent nearly three years recording the "Too Familiar Nail" project and put over 20,000 miles on our car. It was a learning experience for us all, but we came away with a great sounding debut CD.

The production of this recording has stood well the test of time. It was a team effort with Mark Yeend and producer, Lance Gibbon giving of their souls. We're still proud of what we accomplished in that process, and will be eternally grateful to Mark and Lance for all they did for us during that time.
