The long awaited debut release album "Grown Folk Music " from Bigg Hamp is finally here! How it all began, was with a test play on facebook to see what type of feedback the 1st single "Can't Let Go" would recieve. The responses were overwhelming to the point of it going viral! Bigg Hamp and his business partner Peyton Moore realized that they may possibly have a hit song with that 70's 80's sound and velvet voice that would appeal to the mature crowd. Bigg Hamp reluctantly went forward with production, writing & composing 10 more tracks in a span of 8 days! Some would called this remarkable - but Bigg Hamp simply says that it is what he's been doing for the last twenty plus years for other up and coming artists. Dealing with mostly independent & street level singers and rappers - frustration had set in and Bigg Hamp had almost went 2 straight years without doing anything with reference to music: up until this point. Bigg Hamp had always had the desire to be in the music industry, in a major way as a Hip Hop Artist; back in the day - but never could seem to get that break! Holding strong to his faith, Bigg Hamp would keep a close bond to music as a DJ and producing tracks for other artists. A musician 1st and foremost; Bigg Hamp learned at an early age to read and write music and play many instruments. Bigg Hamp would also do studio sessions as a vocalist - singing hooks on hip hop tracks to even writing, producing and multi-role acting in his own comic book w/full soundtrack. Bigg Hamp never knew his break would come as a solo r&b and blues singer.. figuring that he just wasn't seasoned enough to take on that challenge. But as more time went by, Bigg Hamp came to the realization that "it's my turn!" Since Hip Hop music was becoming stagnant and common place throughout the world - Bigg Hamp figured it was time to bring the old school sound back with those "I'm Feeling You" lyrics - dealing with the issues of today's society.
