Born and bred in South Africa from Italian descent, Albano Prestia is a singer/songwriter who lives in Johannesburg, South Africa.

âMy passion has always been music. It started from a very young age, learning piano, vocals and later guitarâ he says.

At the age of eighteen, he formed a band called BC Dance.

âIn fact it was the first band to sign to Virgin Records in South Africa, prior to Virgin having been bought out by EMI. We were signed for 5 years, writing, producing and performing.
However as with any major label, being told what to write, in what style to record and how to dress can be soul destroying and selling out was never on the cards for me.â he says.

âI write pop songs. Iâve always been a big believer in melody and vocally I posses a unique voice.It does makes for an interesting combination, pop songs with an Indie Voice . . . a little left off centre.
Thus when people ask me to describe my music I sayâ¦. Indie Popâ, says the singer songwriter.
