Although "Wilverines for President" is only three songs long, we decided that now is the time to get these songs out where people can hear them.
"Jesus Wants us to Win the War" is an upbeat folk/rock/gospel/country kind of thang that you'll definately be humming when you wake up in the morning after you hear it! The title is self-explanatory. This song has been featured on John Weingart's show "Music You Can't Hear on the Radio" on WPRB in Princeton, NJ.
"Going to Nova Scotia", named after simply one of the best and most beautiful places on the entire planet, has Brian Wilson-inspired harmonies in the refrain that you can sing as you cross the border to our neighbor of the great north.
You've heard "Masters of War" lots of times. This is a bluesy version with a repeating acoustic riff reminiscent of Iron Man (for no particular reason.) It features haunting and very cool lead guitar by David Voorhees.
The Wilverines are an original folk/rock/jazz/blues band. Based in the Newtown, PA area, we play area clubs, events and schools. "Wilverines for President" is the Wilverines' second CD.
The CD features original cover artwork by Rebecca Rhodin. Rebecca's website is www.rhodinart.com.
This CD was recorded by Will Rhodin and Torin Rhodin. It was mixed and mastered by Will Rhodin, in his basement.
Operator Directions -
1) Turn car stereo volume up really high at the stop light.
2) Roll all windows down.
3) Insert "Wilverines for President".
4) Hit "Play".
