Details:
Blue September is colored with the same memorable melodies for which Windows has become known.

The band is spearheaded by the songwriting talents of Skipper Wise and Ed Cohen. Wise released his owm album in late 1989 which featured a single that soared to the top ten on several European charts, and the team has continued the magic on Blue September.

According to Wise, Blue September "sort of marks the halfway period of the year. It represents a time for reflection and thought". "Counting Up the Years" finds the singer taking account of her life. "Someoneâs Growing Up Here", sung by Wise, concerns raising his eight year old daughter and the self-revelations that parenthood can bring.

The final track, which features Al Stewart (who worked with Windows on The French Laundry) is a reflection of worldwide change: namely, the crumbling of the Berlin Wall. Stewart wrote a passionate lyric about a most important event. "Hordes of East Germans were on the move," Stewart comments on the song, "I got to thinking how Eric Honeker, the man caught on the wrong side of history, might be feeling. Lost, I surmised!"

The instrumental tracks manage to combine wit and humor with a tempting blend of jazz, new age, and rock textures. Perhaps the most surprising track is the unusual cover of the Rolling Stonesâ "Under My Thumb". "Weâre big Stones fans," says Wise. "We always thought the song had jazzy tinges and it was a lot of fun to do."

The success of Windowsâ previous effort coupled with the strength of this album ultimately proves Blue September is to be enjoyed any month of the year.
