Born and raised in Orlando, Florida, Willie J. grew up with musical influences all around him. His father was a member of a Gospel quartet group called the Angels of Joy. His mother was a local DJ and one of the founding members of the Florida Mass Choir.

As a child, Willie never showed much interest in sports. Instead, while all the other kids were outside playing, Willie would be inside listening to artists like Marvin Gay, Barry White, and Al Green. This enabled him to become a self taught singer and eventually would become a self taught pianist.

Willie began singing when he was five years old. From that time, he knew whatever he was going to do in his adult life would revolve around music. In grade school he started to experiment by writing songs. Willie desired to do everything from writing, producing, arranging, and engineering.

During his early teenage years, Willie began performing regularly in local talent shows and singing at various church functions. As a result, he became well known in his community for his talent and love for music. In his later teenage years he had been a member of three bands in which he performed as a soloist and an instrumentalist.

Willie J. personally wrote, produced and recorded all songs on his debut cd (NO TURNING BACK).
He has also launched Sync Tune Entertainment Group which is his own independent record company.

"I'm Sorry Lord", one of the songs released on his CD is currently being played on three of Florida's top radio stations. Willie's goals are to successfully operate a record company and to own his own multimedia business.
