On a sunny autumn afternoon, I met a few old music friends at a cafe. They had invited me to convince me to write some arrangements for a concert they were planning. After many years of musical inactivity, I felt so overwhelmed by the task at hand that I eventually decided to decline the offer to be on the safe side. Notwithstanding, as this experience had left a sour taste in my mind. I thought of another time when I would have jumped with such enthusiasm and dedication to such an opportunity. Those days, when I had all the time in the world at my disposal now seemed so distant. These pieces came to be as direct consequence of my failed attempts to fulfill my friends' requests as a 2-girl father in the most complicated and busy city in the world. In fact, I have thought of a longer title for this collection ('Volatile notes for an uncertain performance') that I then changed to a shorter version ('No time to write this down!'), that also reflected more closely my frustration about this reality.
Except for the bonus track, all pieces are improvisations at the spur of the moment based on an idea suggested by a close friend to capture on the spot, either conciously or unconciously whatever was on my mind.
