Imagine you're out on nice country stroll
It starts to rain
you run for cover
then a huge down pour
you grab a tire swing chain to swing across a creek
lighting strikes
you fly through the air
the bolt leaves through your shoe
you land in the rushing creek
it turns quickly to a raging river
it sends you over the falls
thunder, lighting, sheets of rain
you splash land in a pond
climb out and run into a cabin on the bank
you breath a sign of relief
That's what listening to this album is like.

"Face Your Demons"
Four years in the making, here is the 7th album by the eclectic band LenCat. Simply put, this album is not fit for the general public. If you are a person with at least a sense of adventure and an open mind, you may find something of interest here. If you are a raving lunatic, welcome home. This album is for you. Unlike the last album Rock House Blues, which showcases the bands rockin bar party persona, Face Your Demons is an epic journey which makes Mr. Toads Wild Ride look as boring as the Jennifer Aniston family picnic.
ACT 1: The Coming
The title track alone takes you on so many twists and turns that it will leave you reeling. It's truly a WTF moment. You'll never get the full impact without hearing it in it's entirety. "I Wanna Sell Out" is a tongue in cheek jab at all of our former heroes who now shill Doritos and Pepsi to pay for their demons: cocaine and narcissism etc. "Remember Me" (perhaps the only cut suitable for the general public) is a introspective look at who we are and what we leave behind.
The cover of the Radiohead classic "Creep" has prompted one music professional to ask "What are you thinking?!" And, If only Rod Serling were alive to hear "Captain Jim", surely it would have been a final installment to the Twilight Zone. "Blow Town" is the story of street gang warfare. While the term 'blow town' dates back to old Jimmy Cagney movies, the story is told in such a way that it could be happening today. Track 7? Don't ask. "When you believe..." is a happy peppy folk-rock song about a religious fanatic addicted to prescription pain pills. You know, the typical subject for songs.
ACT 2: The Reckoning
"Jazz Jizz" is an unusual avant guard jazz song with a secret. Can you guess what it is? "Fireflies" may be the saddest song ever written. Some people can't get past the first line. Track 11 is a short A Capella version of the 1982 Dweezil Zappa's lament to Molly Ringwold. "Need a Penny" is the story of what happens to one when the Demons have chewed you up and spit you out.
Why is track 13 called "Moby Dickless"? The first person to email us with the right answer gets a free signed copy of the cd. (len@lencat.com) "Crazy Eyes" is a whole OTHER effect of what happens when the demons devour one's mind and soul lock, stock and barrel. "Goth Mountain Night" is the final battle against the demons. How will it end?
ACT 3: Alive Again!
The demon rum keeps the band occupied in S.F. bay area haunts. When the boys go out and perform live it's a PARTY! When it gets late and the party is raging, the boys like to slip in some of their fun "off-color" tunes and push things to the next level. "Sit on my Face", "Extra Close" and "Sex me Down" are prime examples and the crowd reaction tells it all. Imagine a packed bar full of people singing "Sit on my face tonight!!" Oh wait. You don't have to imagine it. Here it is: http://www.youtube.com/user/LenCat1
Len Callo - guitar/Vocals, A.J. Leddy - Drums, Dave Becker - Bass, John Franks - Harp.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
"Goth Mountain Night"
Night on the mountain - Mind is warped
Guts on the ground - Bricks on the floor
World is spinning - Dark inside
Demons bite hard - I cannot hide
Gothic mountain - Can I die?
Darkness Falls - So do I
Demons Demons! DEMONS FLEE!
Help me help me God help me
Demons clutch and claw at me
Blind with poison I cannot see
World is spinning all around
Demons DEMONS bring me down!
Night on the mountain - Sun did rise
Blinding torture - Burn my eyes
Pain is hiding hurt inside
Demons bite is not denied

FAQ: What is a LenCat?
The origin of the name comes from the time, in the early 80's, when Len ordered a 10 album, Frank Zappa, box set from Zappa's mail order catalog. A few of the discs were warped so Len sent the whole box back. When some flunky in Franks shipping department didn't like that, she shipped back the new box with a snide note that read "Hey Len Cat, next time just send back the discs that are warped instead of the WHOLE box" . Len chuckled.
Cut to the year 2000: Len was putting out his first solo cd (the long out of print "Battered, Tattered, Bruised and Abused") and thought that the name Len Callo was too boring. He remembered the "Len cat" remark, changed it to LenCat and used it as a stage name/band name. And now you know the REST of the story.
--------------------------------------
BIO
In 1980, in the SF bay area, Len Callo Joined with Ed Kane and Jeff Williams to form a band called "the ASSASSINS". Under the management of Bill McKay, this band, performing original hard rock and BizZAReNESS, became wildly popular in the area. After the tragic demise of the Assassins in 1983, Len joined up with another local favorite: "MINORS IN POSSESSION" to write and perform more original music. One day(Sept. 17 '83 to be exact) after rehersals with this band he got his good time drinkin' buddies, Hair Bear and K-Dog to pick up the bass and drums and began playing his original solo songs. They jokingly refered to themselves as a POWER TRIO.
By '84 Len moved on to a progressive metal band called "BARR SINISTER" all the while continuing to rehearse and hone the now officially named "POWER TTTRIO". In '85 Barr Sinister disbanded and the TTTRIO began performing locally. They quickly gained attention for their wild antics and crazy perverse rockin' songs. By the end of '87 they were joined by former "Assassin" Ed Kane and went to Amsterdam and became part of the music scene there. After 2 years off and on in A-Dam and Germany the TTTRIO, battered, tattered, bruised and abused by the wild underground experience, came home and took a long break from the music scene.
In 1990's Len built a studio in the Bay Area. The trio re-grouped and began writing and playing new songs. They still played the occasional Bay Area gig but, rather than hit the weekly grind of playing all the Bay Area clubs on a regular basis, they would get on their Harley's and ride up and down the California coast, Delta or into the Sierra Mountains. There they would check into small towns and howl with the locals at taverns and pubs, sitting in with the local bands and goin' nuts.
In 2000, with a huge catalogue of material now under his belt, Len made a solo cd under the moniker LenCat. At this time Len joined South Bay rockers, "PHANTOM 57" and began gigging again regularly. Len's original material was part of the set and the LenCat cd's were snapped up at local shows. In 2002 a second cd was made with the same results. In 2003 "Phantom 57" disbanded and the POWER TTTRIO began performing again on a regular basis with the addition of P57 member Jason "the Walrus" Crane. The locals all knew what to expect and turned out at the local shit-holes to drink and party and hear original music that they knew they couldn't hear anywhere else.
2004 brought the release of the 3rd album "Devil's Pecker Road" which captured the imagination of perverts and derelects in the fishing village of Alviso and Bay area high school students. The follow up album, "BLASTED" is a Blues-Rocker suitable for the general public. By 2005 the LenCat band was in full bloom and rocking bay area haunts. 2007 saw the release of the underground mindblower "Sex Axe" an album epic mogombo. International superstar Andy Just joined LenCat on the 2009 release "Rock House Blues". This is another album suitable for the general public and a great example of the live LenCat experience.
2011 give's us the release of another underground LenCat cd "Face Your Demons"
The future looks bright.
