Dave and Julie hail from Cleethorpes, North East Lincolnshire, on the Humber estuary adjacent to the once great fishing port of Grimsby.
Singing together in their own locality since the early 1970s, the last few years have seen them venturing further afield to take part in maritime and other festivals. This is largely as a result of Daveâs growing bag of self-penned songs, and the coupleâs desire to spread them as widely as possible.
Many of their songs celebrate the lives of ordinary people who earned their living from fishing and its related trades. Daveâs songs about the demise of Grimsbyâs fishing trade - âThe Forty Thievesâ and âThe North Wallâ - have been taken up and recorded by well-known singers such as Vin Garbutt and Johnny Collins.
Contact Dave and Julie by phone on 01472-693137, by post at 37 Daggett Road, Cleethorpes, N E Lincolnshire, DN35 0EP or by e-mail at david.evardson@btinternet.com

Details:
The North Wall - A retired trawler fitterâs dream of better times, long gone. Compare the present day picture of desolation and inactivity described by this song with the busy scene portrayed on the front cover. This shows a typical day on the thriving North Wall of 1956 (photograph kindly loaned by The Grimsby Evening Telegraph). Trawler masts and rigging as far as the eye can see! Today you'd be lucky to find any craft at all moored there.
Watch out for other tracks we'll be uploading from our CD 'One More Trip' and our other CDs.
