The Isam Band has gone through several incarnations from the earliest days, evolving from a cover-only, party-till-the-cows-come-home rock band to the musical menagerie that performs award-winning original tunesâsome romantic, some that rock, a little blues, a tad country, with hot guitar leads and soulful vocals. You can hear them live New Yearâs Eve at Dobsonâs Restaurant in San Diego and at the San Diego County Fair in June.

Their first CD, Stay Awhile, is the culmination of singer-song writer Isam (Sam) Khouryâs best tunes crafted over years of writing, arranging and performing. Indeed, Sam is both a conjurer of tunes and wizard of words. Many of Samâs songs are about the redemptive qualities of love and reflect Samâs positive outlook on life. Sam has won several songwriting awards: Honorable Mention in the 2001 John Lennon Songwriting Contest for "Stay Awhile"; 2004 Great American Song Contest Winner for "You Stole Their Hearts"; and 1989 Second Annual BillBoard Song Contest Award for "Fell in and Fallen". All these songs are on this CD.

This CD is a collaborative effort. Samâs supporting cast includes Paul Anderson on bass, Dave Santoro on drums, Michael Singer on keyboards, and Bill Adams on vocals and harp. These five musicians bring Samâs songs to life, instilling them with their own brand of musical acumen. Several guest musicians also enhance the recording, including Peter Sprague on guitar, Tripp Sprague on saxophone and flute, and Sara Anderson and Lauren Widney on vocals.
