Greenhill Fence started off as a music project in 2009, with no goals in any directions. After a year Greenhill Fence started to take form and the work began to be more focused. The focus was to explore music genres like ambient and Downtempo using synthesizers, orchestra-sounds, pianos, drum-machines, Turntables, Audio-studder and guitars. The first song on the debut album combines a grand piano with ambient sounds. Forsaken is a remake from an older music project that combines heavy hip-hop drums, with ambient sounds. Adagio is an ambient song, which most of the time is played with reversed pianos, reversed guitars. Con Amore is best described as an electronic instrumental pop-song. Summer Breeze is a Downtempo song featuring many elements from Jazz; this song is also a remake from an older music project. Hüiten Peak is an ambient featuring several traditional Chinese instruments. Hüiten Peak is the only song featuring vocals, which is performed by Beijing Opera performers. Circles is the song that started off this project, this song is a Downtempo song that contains two kinds of bass lines. The bass in the verse is made using a very low tone on a synthesizer and in the chorus the bass is played on an electronic bass guitar. Beta Waves is an downtempo song featuring guitars and a heavy bass inspired by 808s & Heartbreak by Kanye West. Cairngorms is an ambient song where the sound design of some of the synthesizers are inspired by compressed synthesizer often used in trance and house music. The albums last song is called The Chamber and is described as dowtempo, inspired by orchestral music. Artists like Rob Dougan and Craig Armstrong is the inspiration behind this song. In December 2011, Greenhill Fence was ready for the first album release, named Binaural Beats.
