Special indeed is this flower trimmed filet baby set of cardigan and cap. This pattern has full instructions to create both of these pieces in this Titanic Era baby set.
No specific size is given other than for baby. It calls for a size 0 bone crochet hook. French knots and lazy daisy stitches are applied after the garments are completed to represent Arbutus flowers. Knowledge of how to embroidery those stitches is assumed in this pattern.
Materials called for are Bear Brand Saxony, 3 fold and Bear Brand Pompadour Wool, as well as Glossilla Rope in two colors.
For an idea of gauge, as you will likely be substituting more modern yarns, using Saxony, 40 spaces on a row measures 11 inches and 36 rows should measure about 10 1/4 inches.
Suggested extra trims are lace around face of cap and loops of ribbon applied as shown in the photo.
The instructions in this pattern are very well written; much better than many of the antique crochet patterns.
This republished pattern is in the English language and has been retyped from my old original and proof read by at least two experienced crocheters.
The pattern is in an Adobe pdf file that you can view on your computer (Mac or PC) and print with Adobe Reader, which is a free download at www.adobe.com
Immediate Download! No shipping or handling fees!
