Fluted Infant Cap and Jacket Antique Crochet Pattern

Crochet pattern to make the baby sweater and bonnet from the Titanic Era as shown in the photograph.

This 1916 pattern is very well written with thorough directions and includes full instructions for the special stitches, which are the crossed doubles stitch and shell stitches.

The pattern suggests trimming with ruching (shirred or gathered fabric or ribbon as shown in photo) and bows of ribbon.

Material requirements listed in pattern are, for the cap, Materials1 skein Bear Brand Saxony, 3 fold; 2 skeins Glossilla Rope for trimming; 1 amber crochet hook, No. 2. and for the jacket, Materials6-20 box Bear Brand Saxony, 3 fold: 6 skeins Glossilla Rope, for trimming; 1 amber crochet hook, No. 2.
